1. FAQ
Why is working with Chakras important
Chakras are energy centres, which like any other part of your body need to be kept in balance. Chakras can become blocked, dirty, messy, closed, corded to and many other unsavoury sounding things. Once chakras are blocked you are open to disease, illness and physical aches and pains.
Why should you close your Chakras?
Once you have worked on your chakras I always recommend you close them down or at least protect them, this will stop you picking up on every energy out there (which is totally exhausting). Being open (uncontrolled and constant) leads to energy drain and it also attracts the darker side of spirit.
How most effectively to check our chakras are balanced
The easiest ways are with either visualization (exercise below) or with the use of a diviniation tool such as pendulum. If you would like more information on how to check your chakras using a pendulum please contact me for a lesson.
Which ways should my chakras spin?
There is lots of conflicting information on this point. I am a firm believer that a clockwise spin is an indicator that your energies are flowing and anti-clockwise means that you are taking in information from the universe. Therefore your chakras could be spinning in a mix of ways as long as it is working positively for you.
When do problems arise
You will experience problems when a chakra will not open, if it is blocked, spinning out of control or just never been exercised properly.

2. The role of Each Chakra and indicators of blockage
As you will see in the photo, there are 7 Major Chakras (I say major because we do have more, but the most important roles are held by the 7 we discuss today).
Each chakra is reflected in a colour.
ROOT CHAKRA
The root chakra is in the genital area and represents our energy status and our connection and grounding to the earth energies. If the root chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel ungrounded and just can't seem to move forward in life.
Colour: Red
Location: Base of spine/genital area
Emotional indicators: loneliness, insecurities, feeling ungrounded, unconfident, indecisive, depressed, anxious, addictions, phobias.
Physical indicators: lower-back pain, sciatica, varicose veins, constipation, diarrhoea, problems with hips, legs, and feet.
SACRAL CHAKRA
The Sacral Chakra is located under the navel and represents our connection and ability to accept others and new experiences.
Colour: Orange
Location: Lower abdomen, about 2 fingers below the navel
Emotional indicators: mild depression, unmotivated, eating disorders, addictions
Physical indicators: lack of energy, lethargy, urinary infections, lower back pain, sexual disorders, infertility etc.
SOLAR PLEXUS
The Solar plexus chakra is found between the navel and the chest. For me this is the most important chakra to cleanse often as it is a favourite to come under psychic attack and people that wish to control you will look towards this chakra for connection. It respresents personal power and gut feelings
Colour: Yellow
Location: Diaphragm (between navel and chest)
Emotional indicators: Stress, mental exhaustion, forgetfulness, sugar additions, insomnia
Physical indicators: Digestive tract issues, poor metabolism, obesity, acne etc.
HEART CHAKRA
The heart chakra can be found in the centre of the chest, there are two heart chakras which work in tandom one is green the other pink. For this exercise we are working with the Green Heart Chakra. The heart chakra represents our ability to love and to be loved.
Colour: Green
Location: Center of chest
Emotional indicators: detachment, unforgiving, distrustful, uncommitted
Physical indicators: asthma, respitory problems, upper-back pain etc.
THROAT CHAKRA
The throat chakra is found obviously in your throat! It is blue and represents our ability to communicate
Colour: Blue
Location: Throat
Emotional indicators: nervousness, anxiety, fear, inability to communicate
Physical indicators: sinuses, sore throat, jaw pain, voice loss, thyroid problems, teeth and gum problems etc.
THIRD EYE CHAKRA
This chakra is in the centre of your forehead and represents your sixth sense ability and forethought.
Colour: Indigo
Location: Forehead between the eyes
Emotional indicators: lost intuition, imagination, wisdom, inability to make decisions, feeling stuck in a rut, closed to new ideas
Physical indicators: Migraines, nightmares, learning difficulties, sight issues, hearing difficulties etc.
CROWN CHAKRA
The crown chakra is where we connect with spirit and above, it is how we communicate on a spiritual level
Colour: Violet
Location: Crown (top of head!!)
Emotional Indicators: unconnected spiritually, living without direction or purpose, depression, nervous system disorders and feelings of being lost or incomplete
Physical Indicators: light sensitivity, headaches, dementia, autoimmune disorders etc.

3. OPENING
Below I am going to run through a basic Chakra cleansing/balancing visualization and then a second visualization to close them afterwards (please read both!)
In visualization the main aim is to locate the chakra you wish to check and imagine a flower at its source, for example: to begin with the root chakra imagine a red flower in your genital area and try to imagine it opening, blossoming and turning.
Visualisation
Please relax and sit comfortably, preferably already grounded (see blog if u don’t know how to do this). Work through the chakras one by one, if you have a problem visualizing any of the colours, think of something else of that colour (e.g. for the heart chakra imagine a green apple) and then return to the chakra and visualize the colour again. If the colour does not seem bright enough or is murky, keep trying and feed the chakra more of that colour until it brightens and spins.
Root Chakra
Imagine a red flower in the genital area, a deep red bright colour, its petals begin to open and the flower begins to spin (note which direction feels best). Imagine the red colour radiating outwards surrounding the front and back of your body (you will feel this area relax and “open”)
Sacral Chakra
Just below your navel imagine an orange flower, its petals begin to open and the flower begins to spin. Imagine the orange colour radiating outwards surrounding the front and back of your body (you will feel this area relax and “open”)
Solar Plexus Chakra
Imagine a yellow flower above your navel and below your chest in the solar plexus area, imagine the petals opening and the flower beginning to spin. Imagine the yellow colour radiating outwards surrounding the front and back of your body (you will feel this area relax and “open”)
Heart Chakra
Imagine a bright green flower opening and spinning. Imagine the green colour radiating outwards surrounding the front and back of your body (you will feel this area relax and “open”)
Throat Chakra
Imagine an indigo flower (deep purple) opening and spinning at your throat, Imagine the deep purple colour radiating outwards surrounding the front and back of your body (you will feel this area relax and “open”)
Crown Chakra
Imagine a violet flower opening and spinning on top of your head, imagine the violet colour connecting you and the universe.
Now you are open :)
The question is what would you like to do while open ??
Would you like to receive an answer to a problem that has been worrying you, give healing to yourself and others, receive guidance from loved ones or just experience connection…… let me know…… I will blog! Or if you would like to develop spiritually please contact me on [email protected] for a list of courses.
So, I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to remain open for ever! It is always good to open and cleanse before any spiritual activity, but you must also know how to protect your chakras or close them down.

4. CLOSING
Its quite simple really, run backwards through the chakras (crown to root) imagining your lovely flowers closing.
If you would like to keep some of your chakras open (I always keep root chakra open to be open to earth energy) then close the ones you wish to using the technique above but then on the ones you wish to leave open, imagine a shield or a door closing and locking over them to protect them from attack or cords.
5. Ways to balance chakras when visualisation not helping.
If you find the above not working and do not want to seek help try some of the following for the troubling areas:
1. Wear the appropriate colour Tshirt
2. Place the appropriate coloured crystal on the chakra location
3. Try using colour in the bath
4. Eat foods of the lacking colour
5. HELP!
If the above is too much or if you have problems with your chakras please contact me for help. I can provide distance healing/cleansing for chakras and If you would like to develop yourself spiritually and become a healer/psychic I can provide development courses to meet your needs.
